Team Hurricane wins the BRCC Super Fivers Summer Tournament   ***

The Baton Rouge Cricket Club was formed in the spring of 2008 to bring together cricketing enthusiasts in and around the town. We are based off LSU's South Campus which has a lush green field perfect for the game. LSU has an active cricketing community but it is not easily accessible to the non student crowd in Baton Rouge. This club was born to fulfil this need.

What started as an informal living room conversation in March 2008 is today a weekly event for all members. This club is the brainchild of Cherian Korah and Hari Devadas two avid cricket enthusiasts. We started with 5 members, a few tennis balls, a worn out bat and a stroller for wickets.

The club membership is entirely voluntary and most of the equipment we use, was purchased jointly by all the members. Our weekly meetings are generally informal. Our goal is to build a platform to learn and enjoy the game of cricket.

We play a variation of the official game using a harder type of tennis ball and bat, instead of the leather cricket ball and hard wooden bat. Each match is of very short duration usually lasting 6-10 overs per side. Our playing times are 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM during the winter months and 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM during the summer months. Our meetings are always scheduled on Saturdays. To know more about our club or join us, please use the contact form on the site or send us an email to admin@batonrougecricket.com
